A quick note on limitations

To keep quality high, we focus only on what we do best.

We do not offer:

  • CNC carving or flat-cut shapes
  • Highly complex sculptural or one-off art piece designs
  • Custom parts that exceed 60 mm / 2.36 in
  • Custom order in very low quantities unless willing to pay extra costs for blade production – sample is available before commiting to bigger volumes.

If something falls outside our capabilities, we’ll let you know right away – no wasted time, no awkward back-and-forth.

Popular custom order questions

Most of our wooden parts are delivered unfinished, with no varnish or coating applied. This makes them ideal for painting, staining, sealing, or finishing however you prefer.

Some items may be lightly polished for smoothness, and if a product is pre-finished (for example, with oil), it’s always clearly noted in the product description.

If you’re interested in an oil stain option for a custom order, just mention it in your request and we’ll let you know what’s possible.

We can offer laser engraving for custom orders that meet minimum batch quantities.

Engraving is available for larger production runs and includes an additional setup cost. If you’re interested, let us know what you’d like engraved and your target quantity, and we’ll confirm feasibility, pricing, and placement options.

For smaller orders, we’re still happy to help customize the size, shape, hole drilling, and wood type of many turned parts so your product feels thoughtfully made and uniquely yours.

Most of our products are untreated, meaning no finishes or coatings are applied unless clearly stated. However we sand and rubber polish the parts after producing them for higher quality surface. Our product surfaces can contain dust and rubber particles.

If you’re creating items for children, food-related use, or another sensitive application, let us know your requirements and we’ll help guide you toward the best solution.

For single-piece turned parts, the standard maximum size is 60 mm (2.36 in) in diameter and 60 mm (2.36 in) in length.

Some two-part designs (such as small boxes) can sometimes be longer, up to around 90 mm (3.54 in) depending on the design.

If you’re unsure whether your idea fits, feel free to send it through the form and we’ll take a look.

We can usually offer custom parts in different wood types.

To keep pricing reasonable, alternative woods typically work best for bulk quantities, as they require dedicated setup. Let us know your preferred wood and quantity, and we’ll confirm availability and pricing.

In some cases, we can work with customer-supplied wood.

We’ll review the material to make sure it’s appropriate for turning and help you understand the best way to ship it safely to our workshop. Just include this request when filling out the custom order form.

Fully custom parts may involve a one-time setup cost, particularly for smaller runs.

We’ll always explain this clearly before moving forward, so there are no surprises. If you’d like, we can also provide a paid sample before starting a larger production run.

It varies – we’ll help you find the most practical option.

Minimum quantities depend on the part’s size, complexity, and wood type.

As a general reference (not strict rules):

  • Smaller parts (up to about 30 mm) often start around 1,000–2,000 units
  • Medium-sized parts (around 40–70 mm) often start around 400–1,000 units

Share your target quantity in the form, and we’ll confirm what works best for your project.

We’re happy to provide paid samples so you can check size, fit, and surface quality before committing to a larger order.

Just let us know you’d like a sample when submitting your request.

Most custom orders take around 2–3 weeks, though larger or more complex projects may take closer to one month.

Once we review your request, we’ll confirm an estimated timeline so you know what to expect.

If your order arrives damaged or doesn’t match the approved specifications, please contact us with photos and details.

We’ll review the situation and work with you on a fair solution, which usually means replacing the affected items. Because custom parts are made specifically for your project, they’re generally not returnable unless there’s a defect or issue.
